A Different Kind of Experience in Japan
和KIDS began with a simple question:
What do children actually take home from a short experience in Japan?
Too often, we saw activities that were easy to join but quickly forgotten—large groups, rushed instruction, and little connection to the people behind the culture.
They were enjoyable in the moment, but lacked depth.
We felt there could be something more meaningful.
Why We Started 和KIDS
We created 和KIDS to offer a different kind of experience.
One where children don’t just try something new—but truly engage with it.
Instead of giving families more choices, we focus on offering better ones.
Experiences that are carefully selected, thoughtfully designed, and led by people who care deeply about what they teach.
What We Believe
We believe that even a short experience can leave a lasting impression—if it’s done with care.
That means:
- Learning directly from someone with real experience
- Taking time to understand, not just follow steps
- Feeling comfortable enough to ask questions and try
We keep our groups small so each child can be seen, supported, and guided at their own pace.
What We Want Children to Take Home
More than anything, we want each child to leave with something real.
Not just photos—but a memory they can clearly remember.
A moment where they:
- Created something with their own hands
- Learned something new with focus and care
- Felt a sense of confidence from trying something unfamiliar
And perhaps, a small curiosity about Japanese culture that stays with them even after they return home.

和KIDS is intentionally simple.
We do not aim to offer everything.
We aim to offer experiences that are worth remembering.
Each one is chosen with care, and built around people we trust.
From the Founders
We started 和KIDS after seeing how many cultural experiences felt rushed and impersonal—especially for children.
As we spent more time around traditional teachers and small workshops, we realized something important:
The most meaningful moments weren’t the biggest or most popular ones.
They were the quiet, hands-on experiences guided by people who truly cared.
We created 和KIDS to make those moments more accessible to families visiting Japan.
Our goal is simple:
To help children experience something real—something they can remember, and carry with them long after the trip ends.
